Sound Beach Civic Meeting 10-10-2011

Regular business was dispensed with as the Civic was sponsoring a Meet the Candidates Forum. It was announced that Mike Mellor has resigned from the Board and Darryl Blassberg has been appointed. Jane Guido, St. Louis De Montfort Community Outreach Coordinator, kicked off the Sponsor A Family holiday program. Candidates to the upcoming elections attending the debate were Steve Bellone and Angie Carpenter for Suffolk County Executive, Sarah Anker and Karen Wilutis for Suffolk County Legislator, Cecile Forte and Mark Lesko for Town of Brookhaven Supervisor, and Marie Berkoski and Jane Bonner for District 2 Councilperson.

Mt Sinai Civic Meeting. 10-03-2011

Held at the Community Center in the Heritage Park on the ‘Wedge’corner of Mount Sinai Coram Road and County Road 83) Attendees met the candidates for our local Brookhaven Town Council representative: Jane Bonner and Marie Berkoski Agenda: Regular Business

Minutes were approved for April but not May

Topics Discussed:
(1)First student Bus Company Property Update - Jennifer Gordon-Juengst,, Town asked the Bus Company to obtain an appraisal,

(2)Kevin Ward and Deb Cohen both stepped down as officers,

(3)Shoreham Civic was awarded $1,000 from Sarah Anker , this has previously been awarded,

(4)BNL is running their Sunday events this summer,

(5)Phase II(Land Use Plan) Route 25A study, community advisement committees were not used for this phase of the plan - but were involved in the traffic safety part. The Town has reported to Rich Belsky that the reason was - Lack of funds.
